Kia Marks 500,000 Vehicles in Georgia

What can you accomplish in two years? One Kia Motors factory in West Point, Georgia managed to produce 500,000 new Kia vehicles in that short span of time. Quite the impressive feat if we do say so ourselves.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of 3,000 Kia team members, the company was able to celebrate production of the 500,000th vehicle just this month. Which model was the milestone vehicle? A Snow White Pearl Kia Optima SX sedan. With a $100-million investment, the Georgia Kia arm was able to add production of the Optima sedan alongside that of the Kia Sorento.

From skilled factory workers to top-level execs, all Kia team members are reveling in the automaker's accomplishment. Byung Mo Ahn, CEO for Kia Motors America, says, "Building 500,000 vehicles in just over two years is quite a milestone for our first U.S. manufacturing plant to accomplish...The commitment from each one of our team members is a big reason we've been able to achieve 17 consecutive months of record sales."1

As Kia continues to prove itself as a top automotive brand, Martin Kia invites you to follow along with the automaker's progression and success. To do this, simply stay tuned to our Kia blog or stop by 2211 Scottsville Road Bowling Green, KY 42104 and engage in a brand-related discussion with us.
